Mission & Vision of the Department of Interior Design & Fashion Merchandising
The Department of Interior Design & Fashion Merchandising mission is to provide an educational environment rich in professional partnerships and current industry practices for the advancement of individuals as future leaders in a global society.
The vision of the Department of Interior Design & Fashion Merchandising is three-fold:
- to prepare students with the skills to be highly competitive at national and international levels;
- to maintain a faculty composition of highly recognized scholars and practitioners within their respective areas of expertise;
- to continually integrate the latest technology and industry standards to keep pace with the changing demands of the fashion merchandising and interior design professions.
The Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design programs support the mission of the university and college through the implementation of common curricular themes that require students to exercise critical thinking skills related to professional ethics, global awareness, cultural adaptability, and social responsibility within the industry.
